Local setup data

The working setup and Undo/Redo history are kept in your browser. Browser storage can be blocked, partitioned, or cleared. We do not provide cloud setup storage or account synchronization. Downloaded JSON files are under your control.

Tool processing

When ChatGPT invokes a tool, it sends the supplied scene and operation to our MCP service. These can include component labels, coordinates, optical parameters and drawn paths. The service processes them temporarily in memory (including a short-lived RAM-backed SVG during image rendering) to calculate edits, detector readings or PNG images, then returns the result and removes the temporary rendering data. It does not write scenes, images or tool arguments to a database or application request logs.

A live channel can forward an edit result to your open browser canvas. The service holds connection handles in RAM while the view is open. It does not keep scenes, an edit queue or a replay buffer for that channel. A random browser-generated channel value scopes delivery; it is not an account or a cloud backup.

Network infrastructure necessarily handles request headers and IP addresses to deliver the response and apply traffic limits. We do not run analytics, advertising trackers, or account cookies on this integration. Its nginx access logs are disabled and request bodies are not logged.

ChatGPT and external links

Scenes shared with ChatGPT, tool arguments, results and images may form part of your ChatGPT conversation. OpenAI handles those according to your ChatGPT settings and its own policies; browser-local storage does not mean the contents stay out of the conversation.

When you choose to continue on opticalsetup.com, the setup is carried in the URL fragment of a share link. Fragments are processed by the destination browser and are not sent in the HTTP request. Anyone you give the full link to can read its setup. The destination website operates separately.

Your controls

Use New to start an empty canvas; Undo can restore the previous canvas until its local history is cleared. To remove local setup copies and histories, clear site data for the integration in your browser. Delete any downloaded files separately. Manage ChatGPT conversation retention within ChatGPT.

Support correspondence

If you email support, your email address, message and voluntary attachments go to the stated Gmail inbox so we can respond. Do not include sensitive data. For requests about support correspondence, contact the same address.
